Predicted Huddersfield Town lineup to take on Brentford – A defensive shakeup?

Huddersfield Town take on Brentford later today and Carlos Corberán will have the job of trying to pick eleven Town players that can get something out of the game. Not an easy task given the players he has at his disposal. On the plus side, injuries and a general lack of numbers in our squad makes it easier to predict who we might see turn out for Town (but I'm sure I'll still manage to make a mess of predicting the starting eleven). Here's who I think Carlos will pick… Goalkeeper: Ben Hamer I thought that Hamer had a pretty good game against Norwich. He couldn't be blamed for the game's only goal and his distribution was quick and precise. Predicted Huddersfield Town XI to take on Norwich

Carlos Corberán will lead Huddersfield Town for his first Championship game as Head coach later today, when we take on newly-relegated Norwich. Last weekend's Cup defeat to Rochdale and the two friendlies before saw Corberán introduce some of Town's academy players into the first team. Players returning from injury mean that we don't need to rely on the kids but some may have forced their way into the team anyway. Here's how I think Town will line up for the curtain raiser. Goalkeeper: Hamer I think Pereira would have started against Rochdale last week if he was going to be our first choice keeper in the league. Huddersfield Town have their first competitive game of the new season today against League One's Rochdale. Town's preseason has been blighted by injury and has only seen them play two friendly games, with many first teamers missing from these games for various reasons. It's very hard to make accurate team predictions but Carlos Corberán dropped a few hints about his plans in his press conference yesterday. Schindler, Hogg, Diakhaby and Mbenza are all going to feature after recovering from injury. Corberán also confirmed the team will be a mix of academy and first team players. Huddersfield Town take on West Bromwich Albion tonight in a game with huge implications for the top and bottom of the Championship table. West Brom need a win to avoid Brentford pushing them out of the automatic promotion spot. Town are fighting for their survival, with a win likely to see them safe and anything less leaving them sweating on other results. Here are a few things to look out for in tonight's game... It’s a game that gives Town an opportunity to turn around their recent poor form and get their first win of the season under their belt. Everton won’t be easy to beat though, as they’re enjoying a honeymoon period under new manager, Marco Silva. Huddersfield Town take on Cardiff today in Town’s first game of the season. Or third game. I can’t keep up on whether we’re starting the season again or not. It would be nice if we could start again, as we’ve currently got no points and a minus eight goal difference. After two failed attempts to park the bus so far, the Cardiff game represents the first opportunity to see Town have a proper go at the opposition and get in their faces. Huddersfield Town face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. David Wagner has some tricky problems to resolve when he picks his team to take on Pep Guardiola’s men. How will he deal with replacing Zanka, following his training ground injury this week? Will Hogg be able to shake off a hip problem? Should he stick to a similarly negative gameplan to the one that led to a 3-0 defeat last weekend? Huddersfield Town face Arsenal in a rare midweek Premier League fixture. The Terriers will hope that they can build on a disciplined performance against Manchester City last weekend, which ended in a 2-1 defeat. Here's my predicted tactics and team selection for the game. The tactics I expect David Wagner will employ similar tactics against Arsenal as he did at the weekend, in a 4-5-1 formation. The back four will be protected by three aggressive defensive midfielders, the wingers will tuck in to protect the fullbacks and the lone striker will have to work on his own for long spells. I can see why neutral fans might not be in love with Wagner’s style of playing against top-six teams. Predicted Huddersfield Town starting 11 to take on Manchester City in the Premier League

Here’s my predicted lineup for the home game against Manchester City. I think David Wagner will replicate the system that worked so well against Manchester United. This means playing without a typical number 10, and instead having three central midfielders, with Mooy and Williams taking it in turns to roam forward. GK: Jonas Lössl I think this will be one of those games where Lössl plays it safe with his distribution and mostly kicks it long for Depoitre to chase down. His instinct is to play it out from the back, but against City, we can’t afford any mistakes, so route one might be the best option. RB: Florent Hadergjonaj I thought Flo was one of our better players against Bournemouth last week, so deserves to keep his place. He’s also a bit quicker than Tommy Smith, so might stand ...
