How Huddersfield Town’s players reacted to the Millwall victory on social media

One of the best parts of Huddersfield Town’s success under David Wagner was the “Wagner wave” when the players and coaches celebrated wins with the fans at the end of the game. Other teams’ fans mocked us for doing it but it always felt like a special moment when everyone came together after a victory.

Unfortunately the current circumstances mean that fans can’t celebrate in person with the team, so it’s nice to see them sharing their delight at the win on social media. Here are a few of yesterday’s social media posts from the players.

Harry Toffolo’s big achievement

It’s incredible that Toffolo has managed to put together such a great run of games. With so much squad rotation and how easy it is to pick up injuries and suspensions it seems like it shouldn’t be possible. Well done Harry!

Koroma happy to travel when he brings back three points to Yorkshire

After a great performance and a well-taken goal, the first thing Koroma talks about is the length of the coach journey to south London. Those coach trips seem to be suiting him though as he put in another great performance.

Luckily Lewis O’Brien’s finish was better than his goal GIF

These cringey goal GIFs seem to be a fundamental part of football these days, so I’m probably out of touch to grumble about them. But I’m really pleased to see Lewis O’Brien coming back into the team and growing in influence as he adjusts to the new coach’s style of play.

Frazier Campbell acknowledges how hard it is to win at The Den

Even without the fans in the stadium, The Den is a tough venue to come and win. Our last game there came at the end of the season and a young and inexperienced Town team were taken apart by Millwall and taught a lesson. Campbell rightly points out what an achievement it was for Town to come away with a win yesterday.

Duhaney happy to finish his first full game of the season

I’d say this was Duhaney’s best performance yet in a Town shirt and he proved that he can play the right back role in Corberรกn’s system. It was good to see him finish the full game and I now feel more confident about our options at right back.

Sarr trusts the process

Another #TrustTheProcess tweet from Naby Sarr and an acknowledgement that this victory was a result of the whole team playing well together.

Happy coaches

A lesser blogger would make a crude joke about these two coaches posing in front of a stadium that seems to be called Blow Lane. I’m going to leave that alone and instead say how nice it is to see this pair smiling. Town’s coaching staff spend a lot of time on the sidelines barking instructions and flapping their arms manically, so I’m pleased to see them savouring this victory and allowing themselves a smile.

O’Brien mocks Frazier Campbell

Frazier Campbell shared a picture on Instagram of him celebrating with the younger members of the team and remarked on how he was trying to fit in to with the cool kids. O’Brien was quick to point out that Campbell’s mental age was the same as his younger teammates. Joking aside, Campbell’s energy and fitness this season has made him look like a player ten years younger than his 33 years.

Mbenza forced to suffer Koroma’s stinky feet

Mbenza shared an amusing video on his Instagram story from the team bus where Josh Koroma had his feet up on the table and far too close to his fellow wingman’s face. Mbenza joked about the stinkiness of Koroma’s feet and gave him some light hearted abuse. I like to see the sense of fun and camaraderie around the team at the moment, it suggests the team are bonding and functioning well as a team.

Very good confident performance. Keep fighting for every ball, chase back like Campbell and results will keep coming.
