Huddersfield Town return to competitive action this afternoon when they take on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. The South Yorkshire side are now a league below Town, following last season’s relegation but the bookies make them marginal favourites for the game, presumably because they have home advantage and Town’s record in cups in recent years is horrendous. It’s pretty common for clubs to be ambivalent towards the league cup these days but Huddersfield Town seem to take that a step further into open hostility. Today is the penultimate game of Huddersfield Town's season and hopefully the day we can cast aside our relegation fears and hope for a better season next time around. Predicted lineup, score and four questions for Huddersfield Town’s trip to Blackburn

Town have now played their last midweek game of the season and only have games today and the following two Saturdays before we can all do our best to pretend this season never happened. Today's trip to Blackburn is the final game of a sequence of seven games in three weeks for the Terriers so there's a ready-baked excuse for a subdued performance today. However, if Town can get a win out of this game we can "celebrate" that we've retained our Championship status one game earlier than last season. While that's the kind of progress you need a microscope to inspect, at least those nagging fears of relegation can be put to bed. Goalkeeper: Ryan Schofield A stat came out yesterday that said Schofield has made more saves from shots in the 6 yard box than any keeper in the top four divisions of English football. And he wasn't even first choice until after Christmas. It's a slightly odd stat but it does show that he's very good at reflex saves. Huddersfield Town take on Nottingham Forest this lunchtime in a game that represents a chance to make a significant step towards Championship survival. Nottingham Forest aren't pushovers but we've beaten them once already this season and we have much more to play for as they are all but safe. I'm basing today's predicted lineup on the players I think Carlos should pick, based mostly upon their performances in Tuesday's game against Bournemouth. Many of the starting lineup were outshone by the subs that came on to replace them, so I'd like to see quite a few changes to today's lineup but I have a suspicion that Carlos may choose to stick with the core players he's used most of the season, even those that have underperformed lately. In George R. Romero's zombie film, Dawn of the Dead, he depicted zombies returning to a shopping mall because their consumer instincts were so hard-wired into them that they still shuffled around the aisles even though they were technically dead. I shall be returning to the Town website to watch tonight's stream of the game against Bournemouth in a similar fashion. Not because I expect to be entertained or see my team triumph but out of muscle memory and grim routine. This is it! The big one! The most important game of the season so far for Carlos Corberán and his (occasionally) tricky Terriers. Today's game against Rotherham is a chance for Town to put some breathing space between us and the bottom three. But Rotherham will be desperate to get the three points themselves, to help with their survival struggle and to pull Town back into the scrap at the bottom. There's additional significance to this game due to the fact Town are coming off the back of their worst defeat for decades after Tuesday's 7-0 spanking from Norwich. Huddersfield Town return from the international break this lunchtime with a televised game against Brentford at the John Smith's Stadium. The Bees are the Championship's top scorers so far this season but a few poor results leaves them needing a good run to keep their automatic promotion ambitions alive. Town will be hoping they can add points to their tally to reduce our relegation fears. Though it's likely to be a tough test for Corberán's men, as the away fixture against Brentford saw us handed a footballing lesson in a game where we barely laid a glove on the Bees. Huddersfield Town will hope to make it back-to-back wins when they take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight. The relegation-threatened South Yorkshire side come into the game on the back of a losing run of games but will be hoping the new manager bounce might finally start to kick in after Darren Moore has seen his new side lose the first few games of his tenure. Carlos goes into the game with a few interesting selection decisions, thankfully for the right reasons and we can enjoy seeing how he juggles his available players to come up with a plan to beat the "Massive" club.
