Huddersfield Town take on Preston tonight and will be hoping to extend their incredible unbeaten run to 13 games. PNE are always a tough opponent though and it won't be as simple as turning up and collecting three points. While Town won't have it all their own way this evening, we're also a team that other clubs won't relish playing these days. Town’s recent history in the cups has been shocking, so even getting into the fourth round has been an achievement but given Barnsley’s grim recent form and Town’s current unbeaten run, today represents a very good opportunity to progress even further in the cup. As usual, Carlos Corberan has made all the right noises in the build up to the game about respecting the competition and picking a strong side. But we know from history that we can most likely ignore that and expect to see a much changed team this afternoon from the one that played against Derby in midweek. Huddersfield Town are in Reading today to try to extend their eight-game unbeaten run against a team that are really struggling for form. While we’re regularly reminded that there are no easy games in the Championship, this fixture represents one of the less tricky ones. Though the last time I thought that was when we played Nottingham Forest during their abysmal run and they played us off the park. Huddersfield Town take on Swansea today at the John Smiths’ Stadium and everything is looking very rosey for the Terriers right now. The game promises a nearly full stadium thanks to a £5 ticket offer, the team are in the playoff positions, the ownership issues seem to be close to being concluded and there are surprisingly few injury issues to worry about. Huddersfield Town take on Blackburn later today. While Town have won their last three games, their opponents are also currently on a good run of form and will present a tough test for the Terriers. Town produced arguably their best performance of the season in the reverse fixture back in September when they came away 3-2 winners. It will be interesting to see if Town approach this game in the same manner, going toe-to-toe with Blackburn, or if they’ll play more conservatively and try to play more on the counter. This recent international break feels like it was incredibly long, so it’s a treat to get back to watching Town again today. While it was nice to see Emile Smith Rowe do so well for England, I’m otherwise left entirely cold by international football outside of the big tournaments and I’m glad there won’t be another international break until next March. Apologies for the recent radio silence on the blog. A hectic few weeks in my personal life have meant that my opportunities to write about Town have been limited. At least things have gone relatively smoothly while I’ve been out of action, as Town sit just outside the top-six as part of a large clump of mid-table Championship teams on the same number of points. Predicted Town XI for tonight, being consistently inconsistent, the Sorba slump and the Swansea inquest – Another Huddersfield Town roundup

Huddersfield Town were beaten 1-0 by Swansea at the weekend, in a game that could easily have been a much heavier loss for the Terriers if it hadn’t been for excellent goalkeeping work from Nicholls and some wasteful finishing from the Swans. Thankfully there isn’t a lot of time to dwell on this defeat as Blackburn will be travelling to the John Smiths’ tonight to give us a chance of arresting the mini slump we’ve entered. Prior to the Forest game the weekend before last, things had been incredibly positive around Huddersfield Town football club but consecutive defeats have brought the doom mongers out from wherever they hide when things are going well.
