Huddersfield Town players respond on social media to 1-0 victory over Forest

Huddersfield Town won their first game of the season last night and their players took to social media to celebrate. Now we’re not able to celebrate victories in the stadium together, these messages online feel more important.

With that in mind, here are the posts from the boys following the first three points of the season.

Romoney Crichlow expresses his pride

What a great performance from a young lad on his Championship debut. He looked at home on the left side of central defence and I can see Naby Sarr having to push hard to overtake him in the pecking order.

Koroma blames Forest keeper for keeping out his effort

Koroma was one of our standout performers last night. I’m pleased that he’s not letting the missed opportunities bother him as he needs to keep on getting into those situations and to stay confident. If he can add finishing to his locker then he could become a massive player for Town.

Toffolo calls out fan who needs to book himself into a tattoo parlour!

Harry Toffolo’s social media updates are typically pretty funny, particularly the ones where he mocks Lewis O’Brien. He spotted a Town fan made a commitment to tattoo Frazier Campbell’s face on his bum if the striker scored.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when Ben explains what he wants to the tattoo artist. If I was to make a suggestion it would be a freeze frame of Campbell just as he makes contact with the ball for the winning goal.

Richard Stearman celebrates a major milestone in style

Thankfully Richard Stearman’s performance was significantly better than the picture used in the tweet above. Stearman has turned around a fairly ropey patch of form to put in a very good performance last night. Great to see and it leads to real competition for places when Sarr, Schindler and Edmonds-Green are available.

Frazier Campbell enjoys proving he’s more threatening than a “dead penguin”

If you tweet about someone and include their twitter handle then it means your tweet shows up in their notifications. That means you’re sending the tweet specifically to them in a way, so tagging footballers in critical tweets isn’t particularly classy or helpful. It’s nice to see Frazier Campbell make a cheeky response to a tweet that may have angered him when he first saw it.

Lewis O’Brien enjoys the goal from the sidelines

It must have been painful for Lewis O’Brien to watch this game without being involved. Town are starting to show how they want to play under this new system and it seems tailor made for an all-action midfielder like O’Brien. Good to see he’s celebrating these moments even though he’s not on the pitch. Though it’s hard not to enjoy watching that Frazier Campbell goal.
