On Wednesday 17th May 2017 at around ten past nine Town were about to lose their playoff final against Sheffield Wednesday. Steven Fletcher had scored the opening goal on fifty minutes and since then Owls fans had been waving their phone torches around and planning their trip to Wembley for the final. Town were probing away at Wednesday but did not look particularly threatening. Then David Wagner rolled the dice and threw Collin Quaner into the fray. He entered the field with 71 minutes gone in the game. After 72 minutes the sold out away end was in hysterics after an unlikely equaliser was bundled into the net by Wednesday’s Tom Lees. Huddersfield Town shared the points in their home game with Stoke, drawing 1-1. It was a hard-fought and well-balanced match which could have gone either way.
