Huddersfield Town v Manchester United – MATCH PREVIEW

Huddersfield Town v Manchester United – MATCH PREVIEW

Matches
On the journey back from Wembley last May I spent a lot of time thinking about the teams Town would be playing this season. This was the first fixture I thought about, playing Manchester United at our own stadium. It's an absolute treat to be welcoming one of the best club teams in the world to Huddersfield. The challenge will be to get the Town players to put in a performance worthy of the occasion. Our first home game against a top six team ended in a 4-0 thrashing, but I'm quietly confident we'll make a better showing of ourselves against United. Winning is a tall order, but I hope we put in a performance that we can be proud of, regardless of the result. Huddersfield Town v Manchester United - Match details Kick-off: 3 pm, Saturday 21 October 2017 Tickets: Sold out, not only did ...

Swansea v Huddersfield Town – TerrierSpirit.com match preview

Matches
Huddersfield Town travel to Swansea on Saturday after what feels like another endless international break. It’s now nearly two weeks since the 4-0 defeat against Spurs and Town will be desperate to get back into action. This won’t be an easy game for the Terriers, the Swans might not be the strongest team in the division but they’ll be tough to break down and have a canny manager. Here’s everything you need to know in advance of the game. Swansea City v Huddersfield Town - Match details Kickoff - 3 pm Saturday 14 October 2017 Tickets - At the time of writing, there were a handful of tickets left on general sale at the ticket office for Town fans. By the time you’re reading this they may have been sold out. Referee: Paul Tierney - Town have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3 with Tierney as t...

Huddersfield Town v Tottenham Hotspur – Match preview

Matches
Huddersfield Town host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in a lunchtime kickoff. Spurs are the first of the big Premier League teams to try their luck against Town. It’ll be a special occasion regardless of the result, but don’t be fooled into thinking David Wagner won’t try and get something from this game. Town are in eighth position in the league on nine points, only two points behind Spurs in fourth place. It’s hard to believe that we’re doing so well, having only lost one game out of our initial six Premier League matches. While Town aren’t expected to win the game by the bookies, a victory would see us leapfrog Tottenham and get back into the top four (at least until the 3 pm games finish). Huddersfield Town v Tottenham Hotspur - Match details Kickoff: 12:30PM, Saturday 30 September...

Burnley away – team news, lineups, manager comments, talking points, away team info, and prediction

Huddersfield Town make the short journey across the Pennines to play Burnley this weekend. In a match destined to be shown last on Match of the Day, two of the Premier League’s biggest underdogs will both fancy their chances of picking up points. There are a lot of similarities between the two sides, but also some significant differences too. Both teams are built on a foundation of teamwork and togetherness, but the style of football is very different. Town were unfortunate to only draw with Leicester last weekend, having had a Kachunga goal controversially ruled out for offside. That means it’s now three games since our last victory in the Premier League, so it would be good to get back to winning ways at Turf Moor. Everything you need to know about the Leicester home game

Matches
Huddersfield Town take on Leicester City at home this Saturday. The game comes just five days after the 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium, and presents Town with a chance to put that uncharacteristic performance behind them. Leicester won the league in 2015/16 and are a tough side to play. Town aren't likely to have things all their own way against the Foxes. We may be allowed to have possession of the ball, but Leicester are one of the most dangerous counter-attacking sides in the league. Vardy and Mahrez will be waiting to pounce on the slightest error and could punish any sloppiness at the back. Even without making a mistake, Vardy's raw pace will be a real test of our defence. Regardless of the result, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the best players in the Premier ...

Everything you need to know about West Ham v Huddersfield Town

Matches
Huddersfield Town head to London to take on West Ham United on Monday night. The two sides could hardly have more contrasting situations going into the game. West Ham have lost all three of their opening fixtures. Their manager is on the brink of being sacked. Their owners are about to launch legal action against another club after being called “the dildo brothers”. Things look pretty bleak at West Ham right now. Huddersfield Town, on the other hand, have seven points out of nine so far in the Premier League, the manager has the most secure job in the division, and our owner is probably one of the best in all of club football. All the signs point to a Town victory. The only word of caution I’d add is that Town often fare better when tipped as the underdogs. Just look back to Burton Albi...

Everything you need to know about Huddersfield Town v Southampton

Matches
It's been a busy week for Town since beating Newcastle United last Sunday. We signed Sabiri, beat Rotherham in the league cup, and signed Hadergjonaj on loan. Now attention turns back to the Premier League, as Town host Southampton in their biggest challenge of the season so far. Huddersfield Town v Southampton – Match details Kickoff: 3 pm, Saturday 25 August 2017 - That's right, another 3 o'clock kickoff in the Premier League. Being unglamorous has its advantages. Ticket availability: Southampton requested a smaller allocation, so Town have more tickets than usual for the south stand. At the time of writing, it's still possible to buy tickets but it may sell out before kickoff. Likely lineup Wednesday's 2-1 league cup win against Rotherham didn't see any of Town's second string ma...

Everything you need to know about the Rotherham cup game

Matches
After two wins out of two in the Premier League, Town's next game is against Rotherham in the Carabao Cup. The league cup has a new sponsor this year, but feel free to call it the Carling Cup, Coca-Cola Cup, Worthington's Cup or whatever else you fancy. Here's everything you need to know about this cup-tie against our near-neighbours in South Yorkshire. Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - Match details Kick-off: 7.45PM, Wednesday 23 August 2017 Tickets: £8-£12 for adults, pay on the gate. For once there's no need for Town fans to stress about getting in for this game. You can walk straight up without stressing about priorities. Cup rules: The game will reach a conclusion on the night, so there's the potential for extra-time and penalties. If we do get a penalty shootout, the orde...

PREVIEW: Accrington Stanley v Huddersfield Town – Pre-season friendly

Matches, News
Huddersfield Town play their first friendly of the pre-season against Accrington Stanley on Wednesday evening. It's Town's first game since their historic playoff final victory that saw them promoted to the Premier League. I suspect this game will be substantially more low-key. I have to confess that I'm not a big fan of pre-season friendlies, so won't be going to this game. They're good for raising fitness levels, testing out tactics and helping new players gel but they're rarely much of a spectacle. Accrington Stanley v HTAFC - Match details Kickoff: Wednesday 12 July 2017 at 7 pm Venue: Accrington Stanley Football Club Livingstone Road, Accrington, Lancashire, BB5 5BX Tickets prices: Adults: £10 / Over-65s / Full-time students & under-18s: £5 / Under-12s: £1 The ticket office ...
