Reasons to feel positive about Huddersfield Town this season

Reasons to feel positive about Huddersfield Town this season

Opinion
As has become an annual tradition in this blog, I've divided my season preview article into two, one full of positives and the other negatives. Because there's already enough negativity about Huddersfield Town, I thought it would be best to start with the more upbeat look at the season ahead. The negative one is also available on the blog now though, if you'd prefer to make yourself feel glum! For those that like to live on the sunny side of the street, here are my reasons to feel positive about Huddersfield Town's chances this season. We’ve got Neil Warnock While Neil Warnock is now 74 years old, he described his achievements at Huddersfield Town as his greatest yet in management, so you could argue that he’s just reaching his prime! And while in the past we’ve favoured a strate...
5 positives from the defeat to Manchester United

5 positives from the defeat to Manchester United

Town suffered their fifth consecutive defeat against Manchester United last Saturday, stretching the winless run to eight games. While most fans expected we’d experience tough spells like this, it’s still hard to watch us getting beaten every week. There are some positives to take from our recent games though. Liverpool and Manchester United were always strong favourites to beat us, but there are some things to draw from these matches which show signs of recovery. We’ve cut out sloppy mistakes In the losses to Stoke and West Ham, we made some pretty silly errors, some leading to goals. Playing the ball out from the back and being sloppy with possession in our own half was making it easy for teams to exploit mistakes and score from the breakdown of our attacking moves. While Tow...

8 positives from the defeat at West Ham

Huddersfield Town were beaten 2-0 away at West Ham and it hurt to see us lose our first Premier League game. Particularly as Town lacked their usual terrier spirit, and struggled to cope with West Ham's physical approach. It wasn't all doom and gloom though. Here are some of the positives from the game... Town's fans are building a great reputation I was at the game, so couldn't hear how we sounded on TV but my brother said we came across as creating a good atmosphere. From my position in the stands, it sounded like each and every Town fan was singing and cheering the team along. It's easy to give passionate support to your team when things are going well, but when the game turned against us the singing continued and the players got every bit of support we could give them. Our vocal s...
6 positives from the Rotherham league cup game

6 positives from the Rotherham league cup game

Huddersfield Town beat Rotherham United 2-1 in the Caraboa Cup on Wednesday night. It wasn't a good Town performance and we were lucky to beat a spirited Rotherham United. There have been plenty of grumbles about the game online, so I thought I'd write about the positives we can take from the game. Jordan Williams looks like a good right-back Williams overlapped regularly and put in some decent balls to the box. He also tracked back well and looks like he can defend. Now Town have signed Florent Hadergjonaj it looks unlikely Williams will get many more chances to play for us this season.  Based on this performance I think a League One or Championship team would want to take him on loan. That would suit the player, Town and whichever club picks him up. Embed from Getty Imageswindow.gie...
