The spirit within the team was obvious for all to see in the game against Swansea yesterday, with Huddersfield Town’s players showing a togetherness that suggests the squad are starting to bond into a team.
There was further evidence of this online, as the players took to social media to savour the victory.
Frazier Campbell sees the funny side of things
One of the team’s jokers, Campbell shared a picture someone had made to make fun out of the way he jumped out of the way of Koroma’s goal-bound shot (the picture and Hoggy’s response can be seen below). The mini-Messi comment, I’m guessing, refers to Toffolo’s continual popping up in the penalty area and coming very close to scoring two yesterday.
Man of the Match Toffolo shares the glory
Ever the modest professional, Toffolo used his post-game social media post to give some credit to his teammates. It’s a fair assessment too, there wasn’t a single player in my player ratings that scored lower than a 7.
Romoney Crichlow celebrates his teammates achievements
I think it’s really nice to see how much the players that didn’t play enjoyed this victory and it’s another sign of morale being high within the squad. Crichlow lost his place in the team despite being a standout performer against Forest so it’s good to see he’s still keeping a positive attitude and backing the team.
Toffolo’s world
Lewis O’Brien was quick to shower praise upon Toffolo for his outstanding performance. I’m not sure about the GIF goal celebration if I’m honest but at least he’s having a good time.
Koroma pleased to have justified the long journey
The drive to Swansea is a bit of a grueller but the journey home feels a lot quicker when you’ve got three points and your first goal of the season. There was a time when Huddersfield Town would have chartered a private flight for games this distance away, now it looks like the most extravagance the players can expect is a Ginster’s pasty and a leg stretch at the services.
Sarr continues to #TrustTheProcess
The grammar of this tweet is a bit tricky to follow but the meaning behind it is wholesome and it’s great to see Sarr settling in to the side so quickly. While I’m not sure what process he is trusting, I’m hoping it’s the plan Carlos has to turn Huddersfield Town into a decent football team.
Video shows Toffolo and O’Brien turn up at the game like it’s the end of a big night out
I love following the online bromance that is developing between this pair. They look like they’re on their way to find a late-night kebab house rather than the away changing rooms.
Mbenza praises his entourage
Issac Mbenza joked about how Bacuna, Sarr, Schindler and Hogg were his bodyguards in the Instagram story screenshot above. After seeming to be on the fringes of things in the past, it’s great to see Mbenza is looking more relaxed and comfortable at Town.
After the hard work on the pitch the players allow themselves a bit of fun
Great to see these lads revelling in their victory and having a bit of fun with each other. At least I think that’s what we’re seeing and not workplace bullying. Let’s hope Koroma doesn’t involve HR!

But, yes – a good win and worthy of the celebration.
My favourite of all of those tweets is the one with JK being chased by Bacuna and Mbenza – real team spirit and togetherness there. π
And…
Whilst others might have watched the game on iFollow, I was reduced to watching Sky Sports News where Paul Merson covered the game. In fairness he gave us much praise and credit, but as expected, struggled with the names: Muzemba and Tofoffl are apparently on Town’s books now! π€£π€£π€£
