Huddersfield Town fan creates beautiful portraits of the squad

While many Huddersfield Town fans have spent the international break reading endless articles about transfer gossip, one instead chose to use the down time between games to create some amazing works of art.

The owner of the East Anglian Terriers Twitter account has put together portraits of the current Huddersfield squad and they’re pretty special. Take a look below:

Ben Hamer

I particularly like how this one captures the haunted look in his eyes. The kind of look you only get after you’ve accidentally chucked the ball into your own net. (In fairness, he’s been good so far this season but it’s hard not to make cheap jokes.)

Ryan Schofield

Despite having thumbs made of polystyrene, Schofield looks pretty happy in this pic. The colours are all mostly within the lines too. Top work.

Joel Pereira

Another keeper prone to the odd howler but this picture captures the blissful serenity of a stopper that accepts mistakes sometimes happen.

Pipa

Currently away with the Spanish Under 21s, Pipa’s Iberian good looks are captured perfectly in this drawing.

Harry Toffolo

TikTok star and online bully of Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo is also a very good footballer. This portrait really shows off his impish sense of humour.

Tommy Elphick

Not yet officially retired, Tommy Elphick has the smile of someone enjoying one last payday before moving into an equally lucrative coaching career.

Terrence Kongolo

Lots of complex emotions going on in this one. A brooding sense of disillusionment with his time at Town, a yearning for a Premier League club to snap him up and the quiet satisfaction of trousering millions of quid for very little work. Very complex, very moving. A masterpiece.

Richard Stearman

While the Kongolo piece had a lot going on, Stearman is just happy to be here. Dazzling blue eyes and a winning smile draw your attention away from his shocking hair cut.

Demeaco Duhaney

A lovely big smile but it somehow doesn’t reach his eyes. Perhaps a few more minutes on the pitch and a contract extension would make those eyes sparkle.

Naby Sarr

I call this one “Just escaped from my hotel prison”.

Christopher Schindler

No image can quite capture the beauty of this man but somehow this one comes close. Those soulful eyes and that granite chin are enough to make even the most rigorously heterosexual man ask themselves questions.

Jaden Brown

Some slightly sloppy colour around the left shoulder only adds to the charm of this one.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green

Another wonderful smile, although looking at the placement of his armpit it makes me think he should spend some time at the gym to build up his core!

Jonathan Hogg

The proud chin rendered perfectly here, simply superb. This is the face that haunts Harry Arter’s nightmares!

Juninho Bacuna

Another exquisite piece but sadly doomed to quickly be dated by the ever-changing hair styles and colour of this player. Consistency continues to elude  Bacuna both on the pitch and in the barber’s chair.

Lewis O’Brien

A demonic grin and malevolent eyebrows reveal something of O’Brien’s character that isn’t always obvious in his breezy interviews. Lurking under the surface is a darker personality that has yet to be revealed but this artist has managed to somehow articulate with felt tip pens.

Alex Pritchard

Cruelly highlighting the wee-man’s lack of stature but also making his beard look better than it does in real life, so swings and rounds abouts for Pritchard here.

Adama Diakhaby

His arms seem quite a long way from his body, maybe it’s because he’s carrying large suitcases of money that he’s extracted from the club.

Carel Eiting

Like the Mona Lisa, Eiting’s smile has a haunting quality, like he’s got a secret that he’s not willing to tell you. I’ll leave it to the reader to speculate as to why his left arm is considerably larger than his right one.

Isaac Mbenza

This one is actually a pretty good likeness. No notes. Great effort.

Josh Koroma

If Mbenza is the high-water mark of these portraits then sadly Koroma is a little wide of the mark. Which is appropriate really, as most of Koroma’s shots are wide of the mark too!

Matty Daly

This picture is of Matty Daly but there are at least four other academy players the same height and hair colour you could use this one for. They look like clones when you see them warming up next to each other. So Ben Jackson, Josh Austerfield and Kian Harratt can all use this picture too if they want.

Karlan Grant

The eyes didn’t quite work out on this one but it doesn’t matter as we can most likely bin it after Friday. Or maybe send it on to West Brom and go over the light blue stripes with a navy blue.

Frazier Campbell

Frazier Campbell’s cheeky sense of humour shining through in this one. Very good.

Danny Ward

Last but not least, Danny Ward looking like he’s been sampling light ales all afternoon and is in search of a kebab. Top quality work.
