As it’s the international break and there’s nothing much to talk about I thought I’d do a quick summary of all the other Huddersfield Town blogs out there. Or at least the ones I know about and like.
If you like this kind of article then you might also like to read my top Huddersfield Town related Twitter accounts article.
TerrierBlog.co.uk
Jon at the Terrier blog somehow managed to keep posting regularly on his blog despite travelling all over the world for the first half of this season. He’s back in this country now and is blogging more than ever. He’s been blogging about Town for years and has a nice mix of news and opinions, even if some of those opinions aren’t kind to Collin Quaner.
My personal favourite of his blogposts this season involved a foul-mouthed tirade about the defeat to West Ham at home in the style of Malcolm Tucker from The Thick of It.
HTFC Reports
This blog has a narrower focus than others, it’s just write-ups of match reports after each game. While that might not sound exciting, the quality of insight and writing is always high and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into these reports. If you get sick of the quality of match reports in the local press then this blog is a great alternative.
His report on the recent defeat to Crystal Palace at home is a typically insightful read.
HTFC World
Probably the original Town blogger, he’s been putting together his cartoon match reports for over ten years. Unfortunately the output from this site is sporadic, presumably because it takes so long to put together each report.
While the humour of the site might not be to everyone’s tastes (Sheffield Wednesday fans seem to have a particular problem with it), you have to admire the time and dedication put in to animating Danny Williams’ manhood in the recent report on the win against Bournemouth.
Talk of the Town
Their output seems to have tailed off lately, but Talk of the Town is run by two Town fans that like to take a deeper look at goings on at the John Smith’s Stadium. Their about us page describes the site as “a unique marketplace of ideas, opinions and debate”. Just to avoid confusion, the market in town next to Tescos is a unique marketplace for second-hand VHS players.
Their most recent article at the time of writing looks at the signing of Flo Hadergjonaj and what it says about Town’s wider recruitment policy. It’s a good read.
TerrierSpirit.com (this blog!)
I don’t like to blow my own trumpet, but it would be weird to not include this site in the article. I try and put at least one article up before each game and one or two after. The previews look forward to the games, pick out the talking points or speculate about the potential lineups and tactics. After the game, it might be an inquest if we’ve played badly or a celebration if it’s gone well.
The best way to know when there’s a new article is to sign up for the email newsletter. There’s no spam, just an email whenever an article goes up.
Have I missed a Huddersfield Town blog?
