New arrivals soften the blow of bruising defeat to Walsall

I had a much gloomier article planned about Town's miserable Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Walsall, where Matty Pearson's silly red card incident led to Town going 2-0 up then collapsing to a 3-2 defeat. But Town made a double loan swoop from Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday which addressed some of the biggest issues raised by the game on Tuesday night, so perhaps the tone of this article can now be a bit chirpier. Antony Evans has become Huddersfield Town's fourth summer signing after his arrival from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee (believed to be £450,000). He joins Lasse Sorensen, Mickel Miller and Herbie Kane as the club continue to build a squad that they hope will give Michael Duff the tools he needs to mount a promotion tilt in the coming campaign. Herbie Kane – Who is he, what do Barnsley fans think of him and how will he fit in at Huddersfield Town?

Huddersfield Town have signed central midfielder and part-time Phil Collins impersonator, Herbie Kane on a free transfer following his contract expiring at Barnsley. Despite bearing a striking resemblance to the singer/drummer from Genesis (someone on Down At The Mac pointed it out and I can't unsee it now), this looks like a great signing for Town. So with no legitimate concerns about this bit of business it leaves unfortunate bloggers like me little material to write about oth(er than personal remarks about the player's physical appearance. Huddersfield Town announced their second summer signing yesterday evening. Not Alfie May, the Charlton striker we’ve been linked with for weeks but are now likely to lose out on to Birmingham after they turned on the money hose and we were shut out of the deal. The new signing is Mickel Miller, a left wingback who arrives as a free agent after running down his contract at Plymouth. The twenty-eight-year-old arrives on a two-year contract after turning down a new deal at his previous club and rejecting interest from others, reportedly including other Championship teams. Jonathan Hogg, his new contract and a jumper that should have gone to the charity shop years ago

I have a jumper in my wardrobe that has been my favourite for around 12 years now. It fits me nicely, I feel comfortable in it and it works in a variety of situations. To begin with the jumper was unquestionably my best jumper and was my first choice for a number of years. Then after a while it got a bit older, and having been worn a lot and put through the wash plenty of times it started to get a bit bobbly and didn't look as good as it used to. So obviously I got other jumpers. But those jumpers never quite fit the same, or the material would feel cheap, or after a few washes they would shrink and not feel right. Who are the favourites to be the next Huddersfield Town manager?

Andre Brietenreiter has deemed League One beneath a coach of his abilities, despite the fact he signed a two and a half year contract with a team hovering precariously about the relegation zone to League One, then could only manage two victories in 13 games in charge. I'm glad the German has left now and given us time to achieve a fresh start but it seems a bit rich that he's walking away because he thinks he's too good for the level the club is playing at, when he had a part in us ending up at that level (though obviously there are many, many other factors in Town's relegation). Should they stay or should they go? Trying to predict Town’s summer squad overhaul

It’s likely to be another summer of change at Huddersfield Town, as we prepare for a new life in League One and hopefully a more positive season after a pretty dire run of results in 23/24. Before we get to next August there will have to be some work done to build a squad that is up to the challenge of League One, which will be a tricky job, particularly if the club needs to cut its cloth according to the reduced revenues that relegation brings. With that in mind, I’ve had a go at trying to predict what might happen to Huddersfield Town’s squad over the summer. I was just about to publish my article about Town's defeat to Leicester on New Year's Day when I saw Town are on the verge of making their first January signing, so I've decided to write about that first and will put up the post about Monday's game later today. TRANSFER TALK: Etienne Camara shouldn’t have left Huddersfield Town so soon

Etienne Camara’s departure from Huddersfield Town has now been officially confirmed by Town, four days after Udinese tweeted out pictures of the player signing for them. Seemingly there was a delay with the paperwork and the Italian club jumped the gun.Regardless, the French Under 20 international has left West Yorkshire for Italy for an undisclosed fee which is rumoured to be between £1.5m and £2.2m which will most likely also include a clause that will secure Town a percentage of any future transfer fee if he is sold for a profit.
