Predicted Huddersfield Town starting XI for tonight’s game against Forest

Huddersfield Town play Nottingham Forest tonight in a game they hope will lead to their first goal and points of the season. Forest haven't had a great start to the season either but have some quality players in their squad that could hurt Town if we let them. The team selection tonight presents Carlos Corberán with some tricky choices. In previous weeks he’s only had twelve or thirteen senior players available to pick from and then made the squad up with youngsters. With new arrivals becoming available and existing players returning from injury there is a bit more to choose from tonight. The current reality of being a football fan is that we have to settle for watching our team play on screens rather than in the stadium. While we await the return to something approximating normality, we have to settle for streams of Huddersfield Town’s games using the iFollow service. Streaming a game is never going to be the same as experiencing it in person but it’s the best option available right now. However, the iFollow system that is used to deliver streams to fans is currently not a great user experience. It’s not awful but there are some flaws that hamper it. Yesterday's defeat to Brentford was bad, not just in terms of the result (which was largely expected) but because it revealed the obvious shortcomings at Huddersfield Town right now. I felt despondent about Town's chances this season at the final whistle but have since been trying to gee myself up and feel a bit better about our prospects. I try to be positive about Town even when we lose. Last week's defeat against Norwich featured plenty of encouraging signs and I felt relatively positive about the direction Town are now travelling in. Yesterday's defeat to Brentford was different, it was painful to watch at times. The gulf in quality between the two team was enormous and we played right into their hands. “He completely fell to pieces” – Brentford 3-0 Huddersfield – Player ratings

Huddersfield Town were beaten 3-0 by Brentford yesterday in the first league game in their new stadium. Despite Town dominating possession, Brentford were the only team that looked like winning yesterday’s game. This was not a pretty performance from Town and it showed just how far we have to go before we can consider ourselves equals to teams like Brentford. Here are my ratings for each of Town’s players. Ben Hamer - 6 out of 10 Hamer had a pretty good game apart from one moment. He made some decent saves and played some nice passes out from the back. Predicted Huddersfield Town lineup to take on Brentford – A defensive shakeup?

Huddersfield Town take on Brentford later today and Carlos Corberán will have the job of trying to pick eleven Town players that can get something out of the game. Not an easy task given the players he has at his disposal. On the plus side, injuries and a general lack of numbers in our squad makes it easier to predict who we might see turn out for Town (but I'm sure I'll still manage to make a mess of predicting the starting eleven). Below are the main things that he revealed with his answers and a few of my thoughts about what he said. Journalist says Huddersfield Town are in talks about signing three different midfielders

Alan Nixon, a journalist that often has stories about goings on behind the scenes at Huddersfield Town, has said on Twitter that Town are currently sniffing around three different midfielders. The journalist expressed his surprise at the club pursuing three targets for the same position but our squad is so things I wouldn't be stunned if this report turned out to be true. Who could the three midfield targets be? Nixon didn't expand upon who these players were but I'm willing to speculate about who at least two of them could be. There is a wealth of data that comes out of every football game played these days. Trying to make sense of all the stats can be tricky, so I've cherry picked six statistics from Town's defeat to Norwich to try and make sense of the game and the problems Town currently face. Only 1 out of 12 crosses found a Town player Whipping balls into the box from wide positions seems to a major part of our new attacking strategy. Despite Town having relatively few chances to attack in this game we still managed to get twelve crosses off. The problem is that only one of them found a man. There were always plenty of Town players getting forward when we attacked but we consistently failed to find them in good positions.
