Huddersfield Town were humiliated by Norwich last night in a 7-0 drubbing which was every bit as bad for Town as the scoreline suggests. The heaviest defeat Town have suffered since the infamous 10-1 game against Man City was painful to watch. In a season of ups and downs this performance revealed just how far away from the required standard Town currently are. While I'm sure most fans won't want to spend too much time thinking about last night's sustained and complete annihilation of Town's defence, here are a few of my thoughts on the game. How much has Huddersfield Town’s starting XI changed since their opening day defeat to Norwich?

Huddersfield Town take on Norwich tonight in a game that is likely to be tricky for the Terriers given the Canaries sit top of the table by a comfortable margin, have some excellent players among their ranks and are in the habit of winning most of their games. Town are unbeaten in five games though, so know at least that they can make themselves difficult to beat at the moment even if that comes at the expense of playing pretty football. This unbeaten run has a bit of a Lee Clark feel to it, given we've drawn four and only won one of them. It's still a decent achievement given its helping us to slowly drag ourselves towards the point where we can consider ourselves safe from the threat of relegation. Huddersfield Town return from the international break this lunchtime with a televised game against Brentford at the John Smith's Stadium. The Bees are the Championship's top scorers so far this season but a few poor results leaves them needing a good run to keep their automatic promotion ambitions alive. Town will be hoping they can add points to their tally to reduce our relegation fears. Though it's likely to be a tough test for Corberán's men, as the away fixture against Brentford saw us handed a footballing lesson in a game where we barely laid a glove on the Bees. The dull draw with Sheffield Wednesday is most likely already only a vague memory for most Town fans and one they aren't likely to want to revisit. So it barely seems worth bothering publishing this very late write up but it's done so I thought I might as well put it out. With no Town game to watch today you can at least relive some of the tedium from our midweek game. Huddersfield Town will hope to make it back-to-back wins when they take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight. The relegation-threatened South Yorkshire side come into the game on the back of a losing run of games but will be hoping the new manager bounce might finally start to kick in after Darren Moore has seen his new side lose the first few games of his tenure. 5 final thoughts on Huddersfield Town’s 1-0 win over QPR

Huddersfield Town won their first away game in 5 months on Saturday, when they beat QPR 1-0. It was a good all-round team performance and relied on grit and organisation more than attacking flair to get the result over the line. Before our thoughts turn to Wednesday's crucial clash with Sheffield Wednesday, here are some of my final thoughts about last Saturday's game. A competent 1-0 win was better for confidence than a big win Keeping a clean sheet again and finally managing to successfully defend a narrow lead will have done wonders for our confidence. Town haven't won many games 1-0 this season, mostly because we have tended to try to score more after going ahead and that has also led to conceding more too. “Brilliant but frustrating” Player ratings for Huddersfield Town’s win against QPR

Huddersfield Town beat QPR 1-0, ending our long wait for an away win with an assured performance which saw Town surrender possession in favour of staying organised and hitting QPR on the break. The three points is huge for our survival bid and if we can follow it up with a win against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek then I think our relegation worries can be mostly set aside (providing we don't implode over the remaining games) . This result came from a strong disciplined, team performance rather than dazzling individual brilliance, so expect to see lots of seven out of tens rather than any huge scores for individuals. “More than just a carthorse” Player ratings for Huddersfield Town’s 0-0 draw with Cardiff

After a run of dismal performances from the Terriers it was nice to see plenty more spirit and organisation in last night's draw with Cardiff. The obvious main talking point is Sanogo's penalty miss but my big takeaway was tgay it was the first time I've watched Town since the Swansea game where I've not come away feeling annoyed and frustrated with the team. There were green shoots of better things to come on display in this game even if some of our bad old habits weren't completely eradicated. The improvement on the pitch can largely be attributed to Carlos switching to a more pragmatic approach that more resembled Danny Cowley's Huddersfield Town rather than Carlosball but we're now at a stage where points on the board matter more than philosophy(which was also true for Cowley...

Huddersfield Town face Cardiff tonight in a game that seems certain to disappoint Town fans as the team with the worst form in the Championship faces the one with the best. Cardiff are riding high after Mick McCarthy's recent arrival.
