It's been a long wait over the summer, but Huddersfield Town's return to the top flight of English football is finally almost here. We travel down to Crystal Palace for our first ever match in the Premier League and I can't wait for this game. Huddersfield Town’s transfer business: an intelligent gamble

Huddersfield Town’s summer transfer dealings came thick and fast in early July, with 9 players either bought or borrowed in the space a few weeks. It's 10 transfers if you include Kachunga, but the intention to make his loan permanent was decided long before July so I don't think he counts A flurry of early transfer activity made us one of the big spenders in the Premier League and has some rival fans and media pundits suggesting we were panic buying. Less charitable pundits likened us to contestants on Dale Winton’s Supermarket Sweep, with David Wagner cramming every available player into his trolley as he raced around the aisles. Huddersfield Town won a relatively entertaining friendly against Barnsley by a single Steve Mounié goal, scored in the final minute. It was a deserved victory over a Barnsley team that worked hard and forced Town to up their game. Town victorious after testing first half It was a fairly slow start to the game and Barnsley pressed well, forcing quite a few sloppy mistakes from Town in possession. If this was a competitive game it might have been a concern that we misplaced so many passes in the first half but this kind of rustiness is to be expected in pre-season friendlies. Huddersfield Town make the trip to South Yorkshire to play Barnsley for their fourth pre-season friendly. Now we’re getting slightly further into the pre-season schedule it’s likely a few players will make it through 90 minutes for this game and the tempo might be getting closer to competitive football. Away ticket priority – Who are the winners and losers?

Huddersfield Town have confirmed the priority system for their forthcoming season in the Premier League. As predicted in my earlier article about the difficulties in working out an away ticket priority system, many fans have been left feeling aggrieved. There are winners and losers with the system that’s been announced but I personally think that the club have done a good job of trying to make a system that gives everyone a chance but rewards fans that have followed the club for the longest. Six things we learned from the Accrington Stanley friendly

As I said in my preview of the Accrington Stanley friendly, I'm not a big fan of preseason games. I find them frustrating to watch even though I know that they're meant for building fitness rather than entertaining the crowds. Having said that, there are a few things we can take away from the game which are quite interesting. Huddersfield Town play their first friendly of the pre-season against Accrington Stanley on Wednesday evening. It's Town's first game since their historic playoff final victory that saw them promoted to the Premier League. I suspect this game will be substantially more low-key.
