Town’s need of a backup right-back was the worst kept secret in football this summer. We’ve had failed bids, failed trials and failed medicals. Finally Town have secured a right-back to compete with Tommy Smith. Better still, he looks like a good one. Welcome to Town Florent Hadergonea… Hadagoodgo… Haduken… Hader... Welcome Flo! Seriously though, his name is Florent Hadergjonaj. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but I’m sure we’ll get used to it pretty quickly. 6 positives from the Rotherham league cup game

Huddersfield Town beat Rotherham United 2-1 in the Caraboa Cup on Wednesday night. It wasn't a good Town performance and we were lucky to beat a spirited Rotherham United. There have been plenty of grumbles about the game online, so I thought I'd write about the positives we can take from the game. Jordan Williams looks like a good right-back Williams overlapped regularly and put in some decent balls to the box. He also tracked back well and looks like he can defend. Now Town have signed Florent Hadergjonaj it looks unlikely Williams will get many more chances to play for us this season. Based on this performance I think a League One or Championship team would want to take him on loan. That would suit the player, Town and whichever club picks him up. Who is Abdelhamid Sabiri and how will he settle in at Huddersfield Town?

Huddersfield Town have signed Abdelhamid Sabiri from FC Nurnberg for an undisclosed fee. The deal was rumoured to be happening weeks ago, but had gone cold until a resurfacing this week. The fee is rumoured to be around £1m, but I’d expect the relatively low initial fee will be bolstered by add ons and sell-on clauses. Sabiri is 20 years old, plays in the number 10 role and has is highly rated in Germany. He was born in Morrocco but has dual citizenship, as he’s lived in Germany since he was three. He’s signed a three-year contract, with Town having the option to extend by a further year. He's the tenth player to sign for Town this summer (not including Kachunga, who's loan became permanent in July but was agreed in the spring). Huddersfield Town v Newcastle – Player ratings

Huddersfield Town played their first ever Premier League home game against Newcastle United and came out on top thanks to an Aaron Mooy strike. Town have won two out of two in the Premier League and find themselves second in the table. It was another excellent performance from Town and the scores for the players reflect another good day's work for the squad. Nobody had a bad performance and a few were exceptional. Let's hope Town can keep up this level of quality for as long as possible. Life in the Premier League for Huddersfield Town got off to an amazing start last weekend, with a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Town’s next opponents had more of a struggle in their return to the Premier League, as Newcastle United were beaten 2-0 by Spurs. Huddersfield Town won away at Crystal Palace. We won our first Premier League game. We won 3-0. I still can't believe it. I wasn't sure if I'd ever see Town play in the Premier League in my lifetime, so to see us not only play but win convincingly was amazing. Pundits and bookies were not ready for this. We're supposed to be the whipping boys. Our lack of Premier League experience should mean we get walloped by established teams like Palace. David Wagner and his players haven't read the script though, they decided to do things differently.
