Twitter is a great social media platform to find out about what’s going on at Huddersfield Town. It can be hard to know which accounts to follow. Here’s a rundown of all the Town Twitter accounts I thought would be useful.
You can also see a lot of Town chatter by following the #HTAFC hashtag on Twitter.
Official club accounts
The official Huddersfield Town Twitter channel – obviously the first account to follow on Twitter
The HTAFC Ticket Office – A good account to follow for updates on ticket availability
The Huddersfield Town Megastore – Updates on official merchandise
HTAFC Canalside – The account for the training ground, sports and recreation club for Huddersfield Town
HTAFC Academy – News about the young uns
The Town Foundation – The clubs official charity. They do good work in the community
HTAFC Business – News about the clubs commercial partnerships. Because we all love to know who HTAFC’s official handwash partner is going to be.
Sean Jarvis – Commercial Director of Huddersfield Town among other roles at the club. He does the deals with Chinese bookmakers and local chicken and chips shops. Expect tweets about local business and maintaining a tan in a Yorkshire winter
David Threlfall-Sykes – Head of Marketing and Communications, which is a fancy way of saying he gets paid to write tweets and mess around on Facebook
HTAFC Supporter Liaison Officer – Providers useful info to fans, both on Twitter and stood outside grounds on matchdays
Players
Collin Quaner – His substitute appearance in the second leg of the 2017 playoff semifinal will make him forever a Town legend in my eyes
Rajiv Van La Para – Sometimes known as VLP, or if you’re my dad, VPL
Michael Hefele – De, de, dede, de, de…
Luke Coddington – Young goalkeeper
Dean Whitehead – The tough-tackling midfielder
Laurent Depoitre – Otherwise known as The Tank
Joel Coleman – Looks like a Viking but is actually a very good keeper
Elias Kachunga – Aint nobody, like Kachunga! Makes me happy, makes me feel this way!
Philip Billing – Doesn’t have a song yet, but showing lots of potential
Tarieq Holmes-Dennis – An attacking full-back that may end up as a winger
Aaron Mooy – He’s got no hair but we don’t care!
Mark Hudson – The captain and leader
Nahki Wells – The terms of his transfer mean that Town have to pay Bradford City £1 for every tweet he posts
Jonas Lössl – He’s only posted six tweets at the time of writing, possibly because it’s tricky to tweet wearing goalkeeper gloves
Journalists and media types
Following journalists close to the club can be a good way to get the inside track on what’s happening.
West Yorkshire Sport – Radio Leeds’ account for sport, expect coverage of the region’s lower-league sides alongside Town coverage
Paul Ogden – The best radio commentator I’ve ever heard. I’ve seen him on the train before but have been too starstruck to say hello
Matt Glennon – Ex-Town goalkeeper, barber and occasional summariser on Radio Leeds
Examiner HTAFC – Dedicated Town account from the local paper
Blake Welton – Covers Town for The Examiner when he’s not squabbling with fans on Down at the Mac
Alan Nixon – Mirror journalist that seems to know a lot about the goings on at the club
Celebrity town fans
Patrick Stewart – A great ambassador for the club and a great man. I sat in front of him at Milton Keynes away a few season ago
Reece Dinsdale – Unlucky to be the second most famous actor to supports town. He was amazing as Richard III at the West Yorkshire Playhouse
Andrew Gale – Yorkshire Cricket captain
Chris Fountain – Ex-soap star
Ed Clancy – Professional cyclist (yep, that’s a job)
Matthew Roberts – TV presenter, covers Moto GP on the BBC
Fan groups
Official Huddersfield Town Supporters Association – The official group for Town fans
