Huddersfield Town extended their unbeaten run with a comfortable victory over Peterborough United last night. While there were brief moments of fight from the visitors, it was an incredibly one sided game where Town dominated throughout. Incredibly, this win took Town into the automatic promotion places for the night. While Bournemouth’s games in hand mean it’s unlikely to stay that way it is still remarkable. Carlos shuffled the pack with his selection last night and once again managed to field a team that was more than up to the job of dismantling the opposition. I can’t think of a time in recent memory when Town have had as strong a squad available. Huddersfield Town kick off a busy weekend by playing Peterborough tonight in the league before switching their attention to Forest in the cup on Monday night. Peterborough sit bottom of the league and have recently parted company with Darren Ferguson and replaced him with Grant McCann. They haven't had any signs of a new(ish) manager bounce yet, losing to Man City and Hull in their new boss’ opening two games. In talking about the selection for the next couple of games it would be easy to talk about resting players and fielding weaker teams but our squad is deep enough to be able to rotate heavily most games without seeing a drop in quality in the team. Huddersfield Town left it late against Cardiff but eventually found a way to win a game that seemed destined to end in frustration for Town fans. Late, late goals from Koroma and Russell meant Town preserved their unbeaten run for another game and solidified their position in the playoffs, rising to fourth in the table. It was far from a perfect Town performance, with Cardiff setting up to defend and Town struggling to break them down and frequently giving the Welsh side opportunities to break against us. This is the kind of game we’ve regularly struggled to win, so even if the football was poor at times, it feels like a huge step forward to have won a game against a team that parked the bus. I started this blog because I didn't think there was that much coverage of Town that I liked. It was back in the days of The Examiner being pretty dire, the club didn't do much more than post press conferences to YouTube and there wasn't loads of stuff made by fans about games. Odd deal structure and Derby fans’ anger adds interest to Duane Holmes arrival at Huddersfield Town

After over a week of speculation he was on the verge of signing, Huddersfield Town have finally announced the acquisition of Duane Holmes from Derby County. As usual, both clubs have said the deal involves an "undisclosed fee" but Ryan Conway of The Athletic has tweeted about the structure of the deal. Huddersfield Town were soundly beaten on the south coast today against a Bournemouth team that won't have believed their luck after being gifted several goals following simple mistakes. One of the best parts of Huddersfield Town's success under David Wagner was the "Wagner wave" when the players and coaches celebrated wins with the fans at the end of the game.
