Expectation levels were so high for Huddersfield Town's return to the top-flight of English football it was going to be hard to meet them. Huddersfield Town drew with Southampton in their third Premier League game. It was one of the best 0-0 games I've ever seen, with plenty of chances and action. I've gone through the statistics websites and pulled out the five most interesting stats from the game and looked at what they mean. We put a lot of crosses into the box Squawka shows we played 32 crosses during the Southampton home game. Southampton managed just eight. It's been noticeable that we've changed our attacking style this season and often look to get the ball into the air and try to get Mounié on the end of it. Huddersfield Town drew 0-0 with Southampton in their third Premier League game, giving them seven points from the first three games and sending them (briefly) back to the top of the table. It was a stunning exhibition of counter-pressing football from Wagner's men. Southampton looked visibly shocked by the intensity Town brought to the pitch and will consider themselves lucky to be taking a point back to the south coast. Town’s need of a backup right-back was the worst kept secret in football this summer. We’ve had failed bids, failed trials and failed medicals. Huddersfield Town beat Rotherham United 2-1 in the Caraboa Cup on Wednesday night. It wasn't a good Town performance and we were lucky to beat a spirited Rotherham United. There have been plenty of grumbles about the game online, so I thought I'd write about the positives we can take from the game. Jordan Williams looks like a good right-back Williams overlapped regularly and put in some decent balls to the box. He also tracked back well and looks like he can defend. Now Town have signed Florent Hadergjonaj it looks unlikely Williams will get many more chances to play for us this season. Based on this performance I think a League One or Championship team would want to take him on loan. That would suit the player, Town and whichever club picks him up. Who is Abdelhamid Sabiri and how will he settle in at Huddersfield Town?

Huddersfield Town have signed Abdelhamid Sabiri from FC Nurnberg for an undisclosed fee. The deal was rumoured to be happening weeks ago, but had gone cold until a resurfacing this week. The fee is rumoured to be around £1m, but I’d expect the relatively low initial fee will be bolstered by add ons and sell-on clauses. Sabiri is 20 years old, plays in the number 10 role and has is highly rated in Germany. He was born in Morrocco but has dual citizenship, as he’s lived in Germany since he was three. He’s signed a three-year contract, with Town having the option to extend by a further year. He's the tenth player to sign for Town this summer (not including Kachunga, who's loan became permanent in July but was agreed in the spring).
