The bit after the season ends and before the next season starts is always a slow period for Town related stuff. But now we're entering into preseason the trickle of Town news is now starting to accelerate. So to celebrate, I thought I'd do an article to summarise my thoughts on the recent Town-related goings on.  There isn't really a theme to all this stuff, it's just everything that I've nearly, but not quite written a dedicated article about in the last week or two. Now we're into preseason and the transfer market is hotting up so there should be more to write about in the coming weeks. But for now, here's my roundup of all the recent Huddersfield Town news. Alfie May… or may not sign for Town I had a whole section written about Alfie May's potential transfer being up in t...

Takeover wait, retained list, season review, manager rumblings, Tweet mistake & Championship lineup – Huddersfield Town news roundup

News
We're in the deadzone of Town news, where the players are all on holiday, the season is over and nothing much is happening. There are still a few bits and pieces of Town news going on though, so I thought I'd put together a roundup article to summarise my thoughts on the recent Huddersfield Town-related goings on. Here we go… The Nagle takeover waiting game The big thing that Town fans are all waiting on is the final confirmation that Kevin Nagle's takeover is complete and the American can formally take the reins at Huddersfield Town. Nagle is limited in what he can say publicly at the moment but he's confirmed that it's progressing well and it sounds like we're near the final stages of the League's check to approve his purchase. Though I'm not sure anyone but the men with the sh...

I started this blog because I didn't think there was that much coverage of Town that I liked. It was back in the days of The Examiner being pretty dire, the club didn't do much more than post press conferences to YouTube and there wasn't loads of stuff made by fans about games. Thankfully that's changed a lot over the years and there are now almost too many articles, videos and podcasts to digest after a game and that's before you consider all the interesting bits and pieces knocking around on social media. This article is a bit of an experiment to try and pull together some of the best coverage of Town after their FA Cup victory over Barnsley at the weekend. I'd be genuinely interested to know if you find this stuff interesting. Please put your thoughts in the comments below. If it's ...

Huddersfield Town return for their preseason training tomorrow after a short break following the conclusion of last season. As players and coaches return to work it's likely we'll see the transfer rumour mill will whirl into life after a very slow few weeks. Despite the lack of transfer activity at Huddersfield Town, there have been rumblings about possible moves. Here's a quick run down of the rumours that have been knocking about lately. Danny Ward to make his comeback? This rumour has had the most coverage this week and there could be something in it. Danny Ward, the chubby-faced attacker not the goalkeeper, played for Town back in the Lee Clark days and is currently available on a free transfer (though will expect the wages of an established Championship striker). Ward showed a lot...

Expectation levels were so high for Huddersfield Town's return to the top-flight of English football it was going to be hard to meet them. Yet, somehow, the start to Huddersfield Town's first season in the Premier League went far better than anyone ever hoped. Town took seven points from a possible nine and went into the international break third in the League, having twice briefly occupied the top spot. Here's a round-up of one of the best ever months to be a Town fan... Crystal Palace away Our first game in the top-flight was a special occasion and it was reassuring to see Town playing with their signature high-tempo style when they took on Crystal Palace. Unfortunately for Palace, they were still adapting to their new manager's "total football" approach and crumbled in the face of ...
