The victory against Fulham on Saturday felt like a defining moment of our season. Up until this game I’d been quite sceptical about Town’s chances of sustaining a playoff push into the closing stages of the season but now I’m starting to believe. I’m not the only one either, as many fans and people connected to the clubs took to Twitter to celebrate the victory.
Here are eight favourite tweets from the weekend.
Carlos puts out a rare tweet
Carlos has tweeted just twice during his time as Town manager before the above tweet, so it shows that he thought things was a significant moment. I didn’t know he was on Twitter at all and I was even more surprised to see that he actually follows the TerrierSpirit.com Twitter account. Which makes his recent achievements all the more impressive if he’s been reading the nonsense I spout on this blog!
An olden but golden tweet
When Mitrovic went to sleep on Saturday night he will have had bad dreams about Lees and Pearson chasing him down dark alleys, never giving an inch of space. Our freebie defenders did a superb job of supressing one of the Championships all-time best strikers. Great work lads!
Celebrating the less glamorous side of the game
It’s easy to get excited about stunning goals and fluent passing football but yesterday was a day for admiring an excellent defensive shift. HotlineHtafc_ pointed out just how good our team defended, every single one of them contributed to a superb shift.
Town fans had some fun with a sleepy steward
Despite most fans in the stadium being hooked in the tense encounter on the pitch, one steward was caught nodding off. Luckily there were hundreds of Town fans there to help wake him back up!
One fan revealed a slight odd choice in soft furnishings
While I’ll agree that Turton was brilliant against Fulham, I’m not sure I’d want to be faced with his image every time I wanted a bit of lower back support. I can only imagine what the staff at Max Speilman must have thought when creating this item!
Other team’s fans are starting to notice us!
Town have flown somewhat under the radar during this good run because we’re not all that fashionable and other teams tend to grab the headlines. We’re doing so well now that it’s starting to become a talking point and even a case study on how patience with a young manager can pay off.
HTAFC Edits points out how three of yesterday’s key performers were previously vilified by fans
Holmes, Turton and Ward have all turned in some pretty dire performances earlier in the season and were given a abuse as a consequence. Now they are absolutely flying and those boo boys are now full of praise for this trio.
HTAFC Statto shares how much difference a year can make
Town had a dismal start to 2021, which makes our unbeaten start to 2022 all the sweeter!
Sorba Thomas shares a picture that makes me nervous
I remember doing “all pile on” when I was a teenager and afterwards there would nearly always be someone left in a heap clutching an injured something or other. Seeing Town’s players celebrating like this makes me very nervous. While injuries are part and parcel of modern football, picking one up from celebrating by chucking yourself into a pile of humans would be a daft reason to become unavailable.

If I wanted convincing of Towns pedigree it was put to bed on Saturday.I think Leeds will be looking at Coberan next season because I think Bielsa will leave.Leeds fans have nothing but praise for Coberan.Watch this space

Tremendous piece! I really enjoyed that. More of the same please.
The boo boys are now full of praise!
